About Us
Principal's Welcome
Welcome to the Dubbo Christian School website.
Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions parents have to make. We hope the information on this site will enable you to make an informed decision about our school. If you are contemplating employment at DCS, I trust the information on our website allows you to gain an understanding of our school.
Dubbo Christian School is an authentic Christian learning community of around 600 students from Preschool to Year 12. We offer a high-quality schooling experience right through to the HSC for those desiring an education delivered through a distinctively Christian view of the world.
Established in 1983, the school grew quickly, particularly after moving to its current site in 1987, where we now enjoy modern facilities in a well-established and beautiful setting. The purchase of adjoining land is allowing us to meet our strategic master planning goals for further expansion and we are excited about what God is doing here at DCS. In 2014, the DCS school Board took over the operation of Wellington Christian School, a wonderfully vibrant, growing school community offering Christ-centred schooling to Wellington and district.
We talk a lot about culture at Dubbo Christian School. We are blessed with a positive, caring and loving school culture that flows out of our commitment to Christ. We care about each student because we see them as unique and lovingly made in the image of God. Each has a plan and purpose and we commit to partnering with parents to prepare them for their life after school in terms of academic preparation and whole of life preparation through a foundation of faith outworked in service, leadership and character.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to find out more.
Blessings,
Mr. Paul Arundell
Principal

Berakah Christian Education, Board and Association
Our school works as a partnership; staff, parents and carers and supporters working together for the educational and spiritual benefit of our students. As such, Dubbo Christian School is governed by a parent-controlled Association called Berakah Christian Education (BCE). “Berakah” means “blessing” in Hebrew, which is what we aim to be in all we do. BCE is made up of active and committed Christian members of our school community, and oversees the governance of Dubbo Christian School, Wellington Christian School and Dubbo Christian Preschool. Members actively own the Statement of Faith and Educational Creed and help the school maintain a commitment to these documents.
History
Dubbo Christian School commenced as a K-6 school in 1983 with an enrolment of 44 students and two staff members. Originally situated in the former St Mary’s Primary School in North Dubbo, we moved to our Sheraton Road site in 1987.
The school grew rapidly, with the first Year 12 cohort graduating in 1989. In 1995 our School Hall was officially opened and in 2012, our beautiful Gymnasium was completed and ready for use.
In 2008 we established a pre-Kindergarten class for 4-year-olds called Prep, followed by Pebbles – a pre-Kindergarten class for 3-year-olds – in 2010. More information about these programs can be found under Preschool.
In 2014 Dubbo Christian School took over management of Wellington Christian School, a K-6 school situated 30 minutes away on the banks of the Bell River, allowing us to provide an opportunity for high quality, Christ-centred schooling for K-6 students in the Wellington region.
We have been blessed by numerous staff and students who have contributed to the life of DCS over the years. We are also very grateful to our founding parents; to all who were involved in the very early days of Dubbo Christian School, who worked so hard to establish the special place of Christ-centred schooling that we all enjoy today.
